WHAT IS SPINAL TAPLET?
Spinal Taplet is a small-window version of the main This Is Spinal Tap program, intended for smaller monitors or for viewing in the background while you work in other programs. Performance in the background will vary depending on the amount of available RAM. Make sure that no windows overlap the movie area.
Most of the features from the main program are included, such as volume control, sound track selection, find, and menus for going to particular scenes. It does not have the larger view for the movie.
The memory requirements are lower, and although it is set to 3000K on the CD, it can be copied to your hard disk and set to as low as 2500K.
Almost all controls can be used from the File menu. Each menu item has a keyboard equivalent and there are additional keyboard controls for volume. The full list of controls are:
Start or stop the movie by clicking on the movie picture, or by pressing the spacebar or return keys.
Find Backward — menu or command-D
Find — menu or command-F
Find Forward — menu or command-G
Previous Conversation — menu or left arrow key
Next Conversation — menu or right arrow key
Next Sound Track — menu or command-T
Volume control — 0–9 keys to set the volume, or use the up arrow key to increase the volume and the down arrow key to decrease the volume. Using the up arrow will allow you to go to 11.
Balloon help is available for the menus, either by selecting Show Balloons in the Help menu, by using command-?, or pressing the help key on extended keyboards.
